Wall decorations

I was inspired by my colleague Kathrine while reading her blog Pyslepia, and before I knew it I was on eBay ordering stuff I moments before didn't know existed...

One of the things I ended up with is this wall decoration:

What do you think?

Last day in Argentiere

We are at the end of a magnificent week in the Chamonix valley. 6 full days of skiing has been great, although this last day has shown us that we would've needed a day of relaxing if we were to go on for another week...!

If you ever go to Argentiere, stop by Rusticana, a cool local bar. If we ever come back, that's where you'll find us ;).

Below- the guys staking out our course.

Kristine lost a part of her boot and thus spent the day at 2000 m reading crime novels, while we went skiing. As you can see, Rune has had better days... Even our "engelsk setter"(=extremely energetic dog!) gets worn out!

We're almost back in Argentiere, after a descent of 2000m. Not much energy left. But I can assure you- we're HAPPY and CONTENT :).

One day left in France

Last night we decided it was time to try the specialty raclette: melted cheese with potatoes and a variety of cold meats. The guys were still full when it was time for breakfast this morning...

This morning,we hit the slopes at 9.30, more ready than ever!

Not a good idea to walk off onto the glacier on our own. Or should I say, off the glacier/off the cliff?!

We're still so lucky as to have clear weather with brilliant sunshine.

The view from 3300 m. Impressive, huh?

At the end of the day it's all about getting a rest!!

Back in France

This morning we drove to Domaine de Balme, as this was advertised as one of the six exceptionalski areas in the Mont Blanc area. Rune made a comment yesterday about the elevation, saying that this was as flat as a hardwood floor... When we arrived we had to agree. We took a tour of the area just to make sure, and as the last snow came about three weeks ago off piste wasn't really all that tempting either. By lunch time we got in the car and went back "home", to Les Grands Montets. In one word: awesome!

Kristine in front of an interesting sign.... a man falling down head first!
Flat landscape...sorry - gotta go!!
Hi there...
Beautiful France!
Helicopter landing. Or? Hm, I thought this was the ski slope.

YES! Fun-fun-fun!
Puh! Tired?... NO!!!
Vacation is grrrrreat!
Rune at 3300 m. Ready for the descent.
Yo!
About halfway down from the peak.
Look at the view! Everlasting...

And eventually: APRÉS SKI!!

Courmayeur, Italy

Viva Italia!!
Great snow (no powder though, but we can't have it all can we?...), sunny, no crowds, great atmosphere- life at it's best!

Yesterday's dinner... Did I hear proteins??

First glimpse of Courmayeur.

View from Youla.

Rune and Mt Blanc!

Time for lunch!

Resting my legs.

Waiting.

Expert waiting ;).

Homemade hamburger, homemade bread, homemade aioli...mmmmmm. French vanilla and chocolate eclair for dessert, plus nespresso coffee. Energy boost!
