Fancy lawn mowers..

I went for a walk in a close by neighborhood today, and I stumbled upon something interesting. An automatic lawn mower! Quite incredible... I'm probably really late at appreciating this ingenious invention, but what can I say. I've been trapped in a student/downtown/hospital-centered existence for quite some time..!

In the same neighborhood I came across this backyard. I thought it was a cool contrast!!

Protein after exercise?

Research show that women need less protein after strenuous exercise than men. Women have more estrogen than men, and this alters the metabolism. Perhaps one should compare women before and after menopause?

Hjemmelaget knekkebrød = Not so crisp bread

The new trend is apparently to make your own crispbread. I decided to give it a go...
My first attempt at making "knekkis" didn't really pay off... That is, they were very tasty, and I ate it all in a few days. It's just that they weren't exactly crisp! I got this rec
ipe from my stepmother, and I'm pretty sure that with a few alterations on the temperature and length of time in the oven, they'll be perfect!

Here's the healthy recipe:

4 dl havregryn / 1.5 cups oatmeal
4 dl grovt sammalt rug, spelt / 1.5 cups wholemeal rye
2 dl sesamfrø / 0.75 cups sesame seeds
2 dl solsikkefrø / 0.75 cups sunflower seeds
1 ts salt / 1 teaspoon salt

7 dl vann / 3 cups of water

La stå i minimum 15 minutter. Fordel på to plater, dryss hakkede valnøtter over og stek på 170 grader i 1 time. / Combine the ingredients and let the dough rest for about 15 minutes. Spread the dough on two baking trays, sprinkle chopped walnuts on top, and bake for 1 hour at 340 degrees Fahrenheit.

Handicrafts - my projects!

In october last year I googled "crocheting for beginners" and found a video on youtube. After watching a demonstration in slow motion countless times I got the hang of it. Ever since I've always had a project going. When I visited my in-laws over x-mas my mother in law decided it was time I knew how to knit. After an unknown amount of red wine I learned how to. This baby's blanket and socks/slippers are a few of my first items.
